ATLANTA, August 14, 2010 - The Atlanta Dream clinched its second consecutive playoff berth in just the franchiseís third season with a 98-74 win over the Chicago Sky tonight. The victory, Atlantaís 19th of the season, also broke the Dreamís franchise win total record.

The Dream (19-13) is currently fourth in the Eastern Conference, percentage points behind the Washington Mystics, with two regular season games remaining. Atlanta finishes the regular season schedule at home, taking on the Chicago Sky on Tuesday at 7 pm and the Washington Mystics on Sunday at 3 pm.

The Dream makes its second playoff appearance in three seasons under Head Coach Marynell Meadors. Atlanta finished 18-16 last season and was swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Detroit Shock. The Dream returns a solid core from last yearís playoff team, starting with MVP candidate Angel McCoughtry. McCoughtry, a 6-0 forward, entered tonightís game averaging 21.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.

The WNBA playoffs get underway on August 25. Semifinal games will be played August 25-30 with the conference finals played September 2-8. Both series will be played in a 1-1-1- best-of-three format, with the higher-seeded teams hosting games 1 and 3.

The WNBA Finals, scheduled to begin on September 12, will remain a 2-2-1 best-of-five format in which the higher-seeded team will host games 1, 2, and 5. All WNBA Playoff games will be televised nationally, with ESPN2 and ABC airing up to 10 games, including all contests during the WNBA Finals. NBA TV will also air up to 12 games as part of its conference semifinals and conference finals coverage.
