The Dream (2-18) and Sky (5-12) match up for the fourth and final time this season. Atlanta won the most recent matchup 91-84 on July 5, 2008, recording the first victory in franchise history.
After starting the season 0-17, the Dream have won two of their last three games to start the second half of the season. The Dream were in action Friday night, losing 82-74 to the San Antonio Silver Stars, who extended their winning streak to seven games. San Antonio rallied from a sixteen point deficit in the third quarter to defeat the Dream behind 26 points from Becky Hammon and 25 points from Sophia Young. Betty Lennox led Atlanta with 22 points and Ivory Latta added 14. .
The Sky are also coming off a game against San Antonio. The Silver Stars defeated the Sky 75-67 on Thursday night behind Ann Wauterís 23 points. Chicago has lost three straight games and eight of their last ten. Jia Perkins led the Sky with 17 points and Candice Dupree added 13 in the loss.
The Sky lead the series 2-1 against the Dream. Atlanta won the most recent matchup, 91-84 to earn the Dreamís first victory in franchise history. In that game, Ivory Latta scored 16 of her 18 points in the second half to lead Atlanta to the win. Kristin Haynie recorded 11 points, 11 assists and zero turnovers and Jennifer Lacy added 18 points for the Dream. Chicago was led by Jia Perkins, who recorded 24 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals. The Sky won the previous two games between the two teams, back-to-back matchups on June 6 and June 7, 2008.
