Lynetta Kizer Q&A

Lynetta Kizer has the potential to come in and immediately make an impact on a team's frontline. The 6-foot-4 center was named ACC Sixth Player of the Year after averaging 10.9 points and 5.5 rebounds in just over 23 minutes per game this season. As a junior, Kizer averaged a career-high 13.2 points and added 7.8 rebounds as a starter.

What three words best describe your game?
Energetic, Passionate, Vocal
What strengths, qualities or skills will be able to bring to a WNBA team?
I think that I would be a defensive presence for a WNBA team. I also have the ability to face up and can provide a strong rebounding presence for a WNBA team.
What do you expect to be some of the biggest challenges or adjustments at the next level?
I think one of the biggest challenges would be adjusting to the pace of the game at the next level.

When were you introduced to the game of basketball?
I was introduced to the game when I was 5. I watch my other brother play all the time and fell in love with the game.
When did you know you wanted to be a professional basketball player? And, given that dream, when did you realize that you had a legitimate shot of doing so?
When I realized that I was being so highly recruited by some of the top schools in the nation I began to watch more of the WNBA. When I made the USA team the summer of my freshman year in college, I realized that my dream of becoming a professional athlete can be fulfilled.
What do you think it will feel like when your name first gets called and who will you share the moment with?
I think that I will be overjoyed and extremely motivated to establish a professional career. I will share this moment with my mother who has been my backbone through everything.
Once you get settled in a new team, do you have any first-year goals in mind?
Learn the system around me and become someone that will provide a spark for my team. Also making an impact amongst the other rookies throughout the league.
Are there any current WNBA players that you model your game after?
I like to watch a lot film on Crystal Langhorne. Her footwork in the paint is great and is something that I want to add to my game.
What WNBA players are you most looking forward to playing against or meeting?
Semoine Augustus and Tamika Catchings
What is your best on-court moment?
Winning the ACC tournament my freshman and senior year.
Tell your new fans something that most people do not know about you?
I can play the keyboard and my favorite cartoon to watch is Phineas and Ferb.
How would you describe yourself?
Goofy, loving and passionate.
