Marynell Meadors enters her fourth season as General Manager and Head Coach of the Atlanta Dream. In three seasons with the Dream, Meadors has led the Dream to two playoff appearances, including a trip to the 2010 WNBA Finals.

The Dream earned the Eastern Conference Championship in 2010 under Meadors, who guided the team to a franchise-best 19-15 record in the regular season. The Dream swept the first two rounds of the playoffs before falling to the Seattle Storm in the WNBA Finals in three games. Meadors also currently serves as an assistant coach for USA Basketball, helping the team to a gold medal at the 2010 FIBA World Championship.

Meadors was awarded the WNBA Coach of the Year in 2009 after leading the Dream to the second greatest single season turnaround in WNBA history. The Dream earned the franchise�s first playoff berth, finishing second in the Eastern Conference with an 18-16 record after finishing 4-30 as an expansion team in 2008.

As General Manager, Meadors has been responsible for some notable acquisitions in her tenure with the Dream, including drafting 2009 Rookie of the Year Angel McCoughtry with the first overall pick in the 2009 WNBA Draft, bringing six-time WNBA All-Star Chamique Holdsclaw out of retirement, and signing former University of Georgia standouts Coco and Kelly Miller.

Prior to joining the Dream, Meadors spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach for the Washington Mystics. There she helped head coaches Richie Adubato and Tree Rollins to an aggregate record of 50-52, including a playoff appearance in 2006. Meadors also served as the first General Manager and Head Coach of the now-defunct Charlotte Sting where she led the franchise to the playoffs in each of its first two seasons. Following her tenure with the Sting, Meadors moved south where she was hired as the Director of Scouting for the Miami Sol

Meadors has an extensive background in the women�s college game, serving as the head coach at Florida State University and Tennessee Tech University for a combined 30 years. For two seasons prior to joining the Mystics, she served as an assistant coach for the University of Pittsburgh recruiting and scouting.

At Florida State, Meadors quickly turned the program around from three straight losing seasons prior to her arrival. The apex of her tenure came in 1991 when the Seminoles won the Metro Conference Championship and advanced to second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Before heading to Florida State, Meadors earned her stripes at Tennessee Tech where she won more than 300 games as head coach. She was the first head coach of the women�s basketball program and in her 20 years at the helm, she posted a school-record .723 winning percentage. During her coaching tenure, she received numerous accolades, including Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Coach of the Year (1984) and she two-time Metro Conference Coach of the Year award winner (1990, 1991). In her time at Tennessee Tech, she steered the Golden Eagles to four OVC championships and two Metro Conference titles and became the first major women�s college coach to win 350 games at one institution.

Meadors earned both her bachelor�s and master�s degrees from Middle Tennessee State University.
