Traci Cook, Senior Director, Strategic and Corporate Communications

As Senior Director of Strategic and Corporate Communications for the WNBA, Traci Cook is responsible for all sponsorship communications, community relations and non-sports communications for the league. She was named to the position in January 2001.

Prior to joining the WNBA, Cook served since 1998 as Vice President of Marketing Communications for Shepardson, Stern + Kaminsky, where she oversaw integrated communication campaigns for a range of clients, including United HealthCare, Road Runner High Speed Online and The Topps Company.

Cook previously worked in Marketing and Business Development for Physicians' Online, an Internet healthcare company, after spending several years in the political sector. She assisted in the campaign for Sen. Christopher Dodd's (Conn.) election to the U.S. Senate in 1992, and subsequently worked on his staff. Cook also spent time in Malawi, in central Africa, working for the National Democratic Institute, an organization that focuses on international democracy and voter education.

Cook is a 1987 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she completed a triple-major in history, English and political science.
